Where Are The Classes Held?
All classes are held in a home setting in historic and beautiful Waxahachie, Texas. Located just 37 miles from Fort Worth and 26 miles from Dallas, Waxahachie is the perfect location for a fun day trip with your friends.
Don't let the fun end after cookie class! Visit our beautiful downtown square and check out some of the quaint boutiques and antique stores or plan a lunch at one of the restaurants.
Who Teaches The Classes?
Classes are taught by Benjie George Skur, owner and operator of GeorgieGirl Bake Shop. That's me! I love entertaining people in my home and I also love teaching classes. It has turned out to be the perfect combination! I live in a 100-year-old restored home in the Historic District in Waxahachie, Texas, that is at its best when filled with people laughing and having fun. My husband and I love serving our guests yummy snacks to enjoy during class. Homemade cinnamon rolls. I'll just leave it at that. If you've been here, you know! We love to pamper you while you're here, and the atmosphere is always warm and cozy.
My goal with every class is to take the teaching/learning part and sprinkle it with lots of fun, goodies, and relaxation. Before you know it, you will be taking home a box of beautiful cookies you decorated yourself!
WHAT GOES ON IN COOKIE CLASS?
No prior cookie decorating experience is necessary, and all supplies are furnished for use during class. A set of cookies will be especially designed for you that will incorporate different decorating techniques. You will receive a goody bag with a few fun surprises and recipes so that you can go home and make cookies yourself!
The cookies that we decorate in class will be made beforehand and ready to use, but we will also go over making the dough and making royal icing. I will walk you through step by step how to decorate 5-6 cookies, and you will take your beautiful creations home with you in a bakery box. Get ready to surprise yourself with your new-found skills!
Classes last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE COOKIE CLASSES?
Yes! If you have a group of at least 8, you might be interested in a Private Cookie Class for you and your friends! Private Cookie Classes are perfect for friend groups, mom groups, couples, bachelorette groups, school groups, church groups, and the list goes on! All classes take place in my home in Waxahachie, Texas. I do not travel for classes.
